Historic New Castle

Historic New Castle, Delaware, is a picturesque town steeped in colonial history, dating back to its founding in 1651. The town played a key role in early American history, serving as the location for when Delaware's colonial assembly voted to separate from both England and Pennsylvania in 1776, making Delaware the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution.
New Castle’s cobblestone streets, historic homes offer a glimpse into its rich past, while its bustling shops and restaurants showcase its vibrant present.
